LCF- GBV & Child Protection

7. Sensitization on GBV and Child Protection

Introduction:

The Life Changing Foundation (LCF) is committed to promoting child protection and combating gender-based violence (GBV) in communities across Taluka Gambat, Sobhodero, Kotdiji, kingri and Tharimirwah talukas of district Khairpur Mirs. In collaboration with PLUS, Human Rights Government of Sindh  Government of Sindh, LCF organized a series of awareness sessions on child protection in schools and conducted International Women’s Day events, Seminars  and  awareness sessions on GBV in different villages across the Khairpur  and Ghotki districts

  1. Awareness Sessions on Child Protection: LCF, with the support of the Sindh Education and Literacy department Government of Sindh, organized 10 awareness sessions on child protection in different schools across Taluka Gambat, Sobhodero, Kotdiji, and Tharimirwah. These sessions aimed to educate students, teachers, and parents about child rights, safety measures, and strategies for preventing and reporting child abuse and exploitation.
  2. International Women’s Day Events: In celebration of International Women’s Day, LCF organized two events in Taluka Gambat to honor and empower women in the community. These events provided a platform for women to come together, share their experiences, and advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. Various activities, including speeches, discussions, and cultural performances, were organized to highlight the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  3. Awareness Sessions on Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Additionally, LCF conducted 12 awareness sessions on GBV in different villages of Taluka Gambat. These sessions focused on raising awareness about the prevalence and impact of GBV, promoting gender equality, and empowering individuals to take action against GBV. Through discussions, presentations, and interactive activities, participants were encouraged to challenge harmful gender norms and support survivors of GBV.

Impact

The awareness activities organized by LCF on child protection and gender-based violence have played a crucial role in raising awareness, empowering individuals, and fostering community support for the prevention and elimination of violence against children and women. By collaborating with government projects, celebrating International Women’s Day, and conducting awareness sessions in villages, LCF continues to make strides in promoting child protection and gender equality in Taluka Gambat and surrounding areas.
