10. LCF - Skill Development

Establishment of Skill Development Centre for Persons with Disabilities and Youth:

Introduction:

The Life Changing Foundation (LCF) is dedicated to empowering individuals, including Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), by providing them with opportunities for skill development and vocational training. Recognizing the need for inclusive and accessible training facilities, LCF is in the process of establishing a Skill Development Centre that will cater to the needs of PWDs with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities, as well as non-PWDs youth.

Program Objectives:

The objectives for establishment of Skill Development Centre are as follows:

  1. Provide vocational training and skill development opportunities to PWDs and non-PWDs youth.
  2. Equip individuals with practical skills in various trades, including motorbike and car repairing, computer skills, mobile repairing, tailoring and stitching, beautician courses, and motor winding.
  3. Foster economic empowerment and independence among participants by enabling them to gain employment or start their own businesses.
  4. Promote inclusivity and accessibility by providing tailored training programs and accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Training Programs

The Skill Development Centre will offer a range of training programs tailored to the needs and abilities of participants. These programs will be conducted by a team of volunteer diploma holders who possess expertise in their respective fields. The training programs will cover a variety of trades, including,

  1. Motorbike and car repairing
  2. CIT & DIT
  3. Mobile repairing
  4. Tailoring and stitching
  5. Beautician courses
  6. Motor winding
  7. Solor/ Electrician

Registration Process:

The Skill Development Centre is currently in the process of registration, and efforts are underway to complete the necessary formalities. Once registered, the centre will commence its operations and begin offering training programs to interested individuals.

Supposition:

The establishment of the Skill Development Centre represents a significant milestone in LCF’s efforts to empower individuals with disabilities and youth from marginalized communities. By providing vocational training and skill development opportunities, LCF aims to enhance the employability and socio-economic status of participants, thereby fostering greater independence and inclusion.

Moving forward, LCF will continue to explore opportunities to expand its health initiatives, advocate for equitable access to healthcare, and work towards building healthier and more resilient communities.
