Empowering Lives: Mukhtiya Begum Receives a Wheelchair Through LCF’s Support for PWDs
A Life Changed — One Wheelchair at a Time
In the heart of interior Sindh, where access to basic health and mobility is still a challenge for many, Mukhtiya Begum, a resilient woman with disability, received a gift that truly changed her life — a brand new wheelchair.
This transformation was made possible by LCF (Life Changing Foundation), under its initiative to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across underprivileged areas of Pakistan.
♿ The Challenge Faced by Women Like Mukhtiya
For years, Mukhtiya lived with restricted mobility in a remote village with unpaved roads and no transportation support. She couldn’t go to the clinic, attend community gatherings, or even reach her doorstep without assistance.
Women like her face double discrimination — one due to disability and second due to gender and geographic barriers. But LCF stepped in with a vision to make mobility a right, not a luxury.
LCF’s Wheelchair Distribution Drive
With the aim to bring dignity, inclusion, and independence to persons with disabilities, LCF launched a wheelchair distribution campaign in interior areas of Sindh.
This campaign focuses on:
- Identifying the most vulnerable PWDs
- Prioritizing women, elders, and those with no family support
- Delivering custom and foldable wheelchairs for their comfort and movement
- Providing awareness to families about disability rights and care
Mukhtiya’s Joy — A Symbol of Hope
When LCF volunteers reached Mukhtiya’s village, her smile told the story. “Mein kisi kay mohtaaj nahi rahi ab (I’m no longer dependent on anyone),” she said as she moved freely in her new wheelchair for the first time.
Her joy is not just personal — it’s a symbol of what inclusive action can achieve. She now helps others in her village learn about disability rights and motivates them to apply for support.
Why Wheelchair Access Matters
According to global stats and disability studies in Pakistan:
- Over 3 million people live with physical disabilities
- Less than 15% have access to assistive devices
- In rural areas, mobility is almost impossible without external help
LCF aims to bridge this gap with sustainable, community-based support.
LCF’s Vision for Inclusion
The Life Changing Foundation believes that every life matters. Their work with PWDs includes:
- Wheelchair and aid distribution
- Rehabilitation support
- Awareness and training programs
- Digital inclusion for disabled youth
Their mission: Empower. Include. Transform.
